On the 22nd local time, British health officials said that there had been a community infection group of monkeypox virus in the UK, and many cases had nothing to do with travelers to West Africa. In addition, the authorities recommended that close contacts of monkeypox cases be self isolated for 21 days.

As of the 20th, 20 cases of monkeypox had been reported in the UK, Agence France Presse reported.
Hopkins, the chief medical adviser of the UK health and Safety Authority (ukhsa), said that the risk of monkeypox in the general population is still very low. For most adults, the symptoms of monkeypox will be "relatively mild".
The report also said that monkeypox can be spread through contact with skin lesions and droplets of contaminated people and shared items (such as bedding and towels). Symptoms include fever, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, fatigue and skin rashes similar to chickenpox on hands and face. These symptoms usually disappear after two to four weeks.
According to Sky News, ukhsa suggested that people with "unprotected direct contact or high-risk environmental contact" with monkeypox should be self isolated for 21 days and avoid contact with immunosuppressed people, pregnant women and children under the age of 12.
In addition, according to the World Health Organization (who), since the 13th, 92 confirmed cases and 28 suspected cases have been reported in 12 countries without monkeypox virus. Available information indicates that interpersonal transmission is occurring in people in close physical contact with symptomatic cases.
